Interactive Trail Maintenance Map
We work hard to maintain the integrity of Tri-Valley’s flood protection system to keep our community safe from flooding. Due to both environmental regulations and weather conditions, most of this construction work is limited to the warm, dry season. Doing this important work safely means occasional impacts to trails are necessary. In order to minimize the impact of trail closures and detours on our community, our staff updated and improved the interactive trail maintenance map so residents can now view, in real-time, the season’s planned, active and completed construction projects. Please note this map does not reflect closures due to immediate weather and storm damage.
Chain of Lakes Conveyance System Project
Securing Our Water Future
As multiple challenges continue to put the Tri-Valley’s water future at risk, the need for a reliable, locally controlled water supply has never been greater. The Chain of Lakes Conveyance System Project is Zone 7’s proactive solution to secure our water future. By capturing excess water in wet years and storing it right here in our community, we can build a resilient lifeline that will support the region’s water needs for generations to come.
Mocho PFAS Treatment Plant
In a continuing effort to supply the Tri-Valley with safe, reliable water that meets state and federal drinking water standards, Zone 7 is planning the Mocho PFAS Treatment Plant to address Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) found in the local groundwater at its Mocho wellfield.
Trails and Recreation Facilities in the Zone 7 Service Area
Zone 7 recognizes the benefits of public access along flood control channels. We collaborate with cities and local park districts to incorporate our maintenance roads into pedestrian and bicycle trail networks. Cities and parks districts are responsible for maintaining the trails that are located on Zone 7 property. Today, there are more than 19 miles of trails along Zone 7-owned channels that provide off-street connections to local and regional parks and recreation facilities.
