Zone 7 Board of Directors Election Filing Deadline Extended to March 13, 2026
LIVERMORE, Calif. (March 9, 2026) – Zone 7 Water Agency is seeking community-minded individuals interested in helping shape water supply and flood protection policy by serving on its seven-member Board of Directors. Qualified candidates must be 18 years of age or older and reside within Zone 7’s service area.
Zone 7 Water Agency’s Board of Directors election will be held on June 2, 2026. During this election, four Board seats will be open. The nomination period has been extended to March 13, 2026. Candidate filing documents may be obtained Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., at the Alameda County Registrar of Voters office in Oakland. Walk-ins are accepted; however, appointments are highly recommended.
There is no charge for candidates who choose not to include a ballot statement. Candidates who wish to submit an optional statement will be charged the actual costs associated with printing, translation (Spanish, Chinese, Tagalog, and Vietnamese), and typesetting. All costs are determined by the Registrar of Voters and are based on actual expenses and the number of registered voters within Zone 7.
Serving on the Board provides an opportunity to contribute to important decisions affecting water supply reliability, groundwater management, and flood protection in the Tri-Valley.
Elected Board members receive compensation for attending meetings and conferences related to their service. The Board of Directors meets once a month, and each member serves on at least one subcommittee.
